Mike has been involved in health and fitness for the last 10 years. In his youth, he participated in baseball, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. In high school, Mike focused on basketball and track and field. He was introduced to strength and conditioning at this time.
While earning a degree from the Penn State University, Mike continued his study of weight training techniques and applications. He trained with the Penn State Boxing Club and was introduced to a new level of exercise intensity. Also, he began to study the fundamentals of nutrition and apply this knowledge to a diet in order to increase his physical performance.
As an adult, Mike has developed a love of the outdoors. From trail running, to surfing, to snowboarding, to hiking, to skydiving, to free repelling down the canyons of the Austrian Alps, Mike has a taste for adventure.
Mike was introduced to CrossFit by a long-time friend in the U.S Marines. His first workout was Murph, as prescribed. After being sore for 7 days (not an exaggeration), he fell in love with everything that is CrossFit. The intensity, the fitness results, the friendships, and the common love of being healthy and fit.
